The pair, both actors, sparked rumours they have reunited after they were spotted "holding hands."
The estranged married couple -- who announced their separation in October, following Duchovny's trip to rehab to seek treatment for his sex addiction -- took their two children, nine-year-old Madelaine and six-year-old Kyd, trick-or-treating for Halloween in New York.
The celeb news site Millionaire Cupid told the New York Post: "David and Tea were very cute and were holding hands. They looked very mellow and relaxed as they chatted with friends."
After announcing their split, it was rumoured Leoni was romantically involved with her Manure co-star Billy Bob Thornton. It was alleged the 42-year-old actress had received a series of explicit text messages on her mobile phone from the 53-year-old actor.
Leoni then added to rumours she was dating Thornton after admitting she got very close to the star on the set of their new film.
Both Leoni and Thornton vehemently denied they were in a relationship.
